Sarah Muir Ferrer
Coordinator for the Department of Economics
Sarah Muir Ferrer currently serves as Assistant Director of Administration for the Department of Economics at Northwestern University. Previously, she was the program coordinator for Northwestern’s Mathematical Methods in the Social Sciences Program for 12 years. Before coming to Northwestern, Sarah worked as an Operations Manager at Active Endeavors and has taught Spanish at Thayer Academy. She graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a BA in Philosophy and Spanish, and completed her master's degree in Theological Studies at Harvard University.
Ravi Umarji, Lend Co-Founder
Ravi Umarji is currently an associate at TPG Capital where he focuses on investments in the financial institutions, media and consumer retail sectors. Prior to TPG, he worked at Goldman, Sachs, & Co. in the Investment Banking Division where he concentrated on financial services companies. Ravi graduated from Northwestern (magna cum laude, Distinguished Honors) in 2010 with a double-major in Applied Mathematics and Economics. While at Northwestern, he launched several student-run businesses as Co-Chief Executive Officer of Northwestern Student Holdings before founding LEND with Adam Whittington.
Sankaty Advisors, LLC
Rob joined Sankaty Advisors in 1999. He is a Managing Director, member of Sankaty’s Middle Market Group and head of the Chicago office which he opened for the firm in 2005. Previously, Mr. Weiss was a consultant at The Boston Consulting Group. Prior to that, Mr. Weiss co-founded the consumer software company, Medio Multimedia Inc. and was its Director of Marketing and Communications. Mr. Weiss received his M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a B.A. from Stanford University.
Mudlark Theater Company
Michael Miro is currently the Executive Director of Mudlark Theater in Evanston, where he oversees all programming, operations, finances, marketing efforts, and fundraising endeavors. Previously, Michael held several positions at Ridgeville Park District, including Communications Director, Programs Director, and Farmers’ Market Manager. In 2010, he founded the Ridgeville Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit that supports art and cultural experiences in Ridgeville parks. Michael graduated Summa Cum Laude from Marquette University where he majored in History and Theater Arts. He received his M.A. in the Social Sciences from the University of Chicago and has an Executive Education Certification in Nonprofit Management from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
Senior Vice President of Commercial Banking
First Bank & Trust, Evanston
Michael Corr is the Senior Vice President of Commercial Banking at First Bank & Trust, Evanston. He has a passion for working with small businesses in the Greater Chicago area to fulfill their commercial banking borrowing and depository needs. Apart from LEND, Michael serves as a board member of Turning Point BHCC and as a board member and past president of the Evanston Chamber of Commerce. Michael has also served as a member of the City of Evanston Downtown Performing Arts Task Force, a member of the City of Evanston Affordable Housing Task Force, and as a long time board member and past president of the Infant Welfare Society of Evanston. Michael graduated from Miami University with a Bachelor of Sciences in Decision Sciences and Accounting, and completed his MBA at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
Gaurav Kikani, Lend Co-Founder
Bain & Company
Gaurav Kikani is currently an Associate Consultant at Bain & Company, and joined the LEND Board of Directors in 2015. Gaurav was among the founding team at LEND, joining the organization in 2010 before becoming the President from 2011-2014. As President, he led the group to a significant increase in deployed capital, incorporation as a 501(c)3 corporation, developing an internal infrastructure, and cultivating partnerships with local banks and organizations.In addition to LEND, Gaurav is involved with The People's Music School, a Chicago non-profit school providing a music education at no-cost to underprivileged students. He graduated from Northwestern University in 2014 (magna cum laude, interdisciplinary honors) with degrees in MMSS and Economics. While at Northwestern, Gaurav also represented undergraduate interests in the University's budgeting processes and was actively involved with musical ensembles.
