Supporting the Economic Development Fund, a $300,000 grant program started in April 2017 for low-income and underrepresented startup business owners, LEND provides pro-bono business plan composition and coaching to grant applicants.
Evanston First Bank and Trust
First Bank and Trust committed to a matching program with LEND in April of 2014, pledging $10,000 to be used for lending to small businesses in Evanston. First Bank and Trust is committed to working with us to promote greater access to opportunity for minority and low income entrepreneurs
Sunshine Enterprises sponsors a 12-week business training program for entrepreneurs lacking formal business education. LEND volunteers at the Sunshine Academy meetings, hosts pro-bono marketing and accounting workshops for Sunshine students, and prioritizes graduates as micro-loan applicants.
First Northern Credit Union
LEND supports FNCU in spreading financial literacy across Evanston. Our organizations collaborate to host workshops such as "Understanding your Credit", connecting both business owners and Northwestern students to the resources necessary to make sound financial decisions.
Northwestern Community Development Corps (NCDC)
LEND has worked with NCDC since 2012 to promote civic engagement to Northwestern undergraduates, driving service, social awareness, and advocacy to the Evanston community.
Community and Economic Development Association (CEDA)
LEND has worked with CEDA since our installment to promote economic development in Cook County, IL. We support the mission of partnering with local families to promote self-sufficiency and improve quality of life.
Institute for Student Business Education
LEND partners with ISBE to host campus events such as the Social Impact Symposium: Business with a Mission, professional development workshops, and career panels. Our shared goal is to increase access to professional resources for Northwestern students while simultaneously making them more aware of paths to social impact related work.
